About The Position

We are hiring a Software Engineer in Huntsville, AL to support the Ground Missile Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS), a mission-critical component of the U.S. Missile Defense System. This role requires an active Secret security clearance and experience with C++, Java, Python, TCP/IP networking, Agile software development, and software integration and testing to support the development, verification, and sustainment of Department of Defense (DoD) missile defense software.

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
Active, in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret Security Clearance required.
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of related experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years of related experience.
Experience developing software using C++ and Java.
Experience with Ethernet TCP/IP networking and communication interfaces.
Experience developing automation using Python or other scripting languages.
Experience supporting software development, integration, testing, and troubleshooting in complex technical environments.
Ability to work onsite in Huntsville, Alabama.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in Agile software development environments.
Experience using CMake build automation tools.
Experience developing applications using gRPC.
Experience with Google Test (gtest) unit testing framework.
Current CompTIA Security+ (Security+) certification.
Active, in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
Experience supporting Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Ground Missile Defense (GMD), or other Department of Defense missile defense programs.

Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, and maintain software supporting the Ground Missile Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS).
Support the GWS Ground Systems Software (GSS) Integrated Product Team (IPT) throughout the software development lifecycle.
Design, develop, test, and integrate software applications using C++ and Java.
Monitor, measure, control, and report software test progress, product quality, and test results.
Adapt test plans and testing activities to accommodate evolving program requirements and software changes.
Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python or other scripting languages.
Support software integration, troubleshooting, and defect resolution in a mission-critical environment.
Develop and maintain networked software utilizing Ethernet TCP/IP communication interfaces.
Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, and integration teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Participate in Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
