About The Position
We are seeking a talented and driven Software Engineer with expertise in building high-performance, enterprise-grade microservices. This role will be central to delivering LoadUp's next-generation cloud-native platform, built for scale, reliability, and speed. You will work alongside fellow engineers and the product team to craft well-tested, production-ready software solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with a modern, AI-augmented development workflow to deliver exceptional output at high velocity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or 4+ years of practical software engineering experience.
- Demonstrated use of AI-powered development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to drive accelerated, high-quality software delivery.
- Extensive hands-on experience building production microservices using Java, Spring Boot, or similar enterprise frameworks.
- Strong expertise in implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Proven experience with ORM tools for managing data models and database interactions.
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, including schema design, query optimization, indexing strategies, and migrations.
- Experience containerizing and deploying applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Exhibits an ownership mentality focusing on quality, reliability, and system performance.
- Coachable attitude with close attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable, high-performance RESTful microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and other enterprise-grade frameworks.
- Create clean, maintainable, and well-documented code with a strong emphasis on Test Driven Development (TDD).
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Work with QA to ensure comprehensive unit, integration, and contract tests.
- Containerize and deploy microservices using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
- Implement and follow security best practices.
- Collaborate with product managers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
