About The Position
The Senior Software Engineer will lead the delivery of scoped features and models through collaborative teams, ensuring alignment with platform and business objectives. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable software solutions using modern programming languages and AI/ML integration. Requirements
- Extensive experience in software development with proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles.
- Strong technical acumen in platform design, component services, and iterative development methodologies.
- Proven ability to deliver scoped features and models through collaborative engineering teams.
- Expertise in code review, debugging, and continuous integration and deployment practices.
- Familiarity with AI/ML integration and generative artificial intelligence tools to enhance software solutions.
- Demonstrated skills in technical leadership, solution design, and mentoring peers.
- Commitment to quality, performance monitoring, and customer-focused software delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
- Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices and joining in creating accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
Responsibilities
- Own delivery of scoped features and models through collaborative engineering teams, ensuring alignment with platform and system objectives.
- Write clean, efficient, and reliable code using languages such as Java, JavaScript, and Python, driving full SDLC including CI/CD and automated testing.
- Integrate AI and ML components to enhance software intelligence and leverage GenAI tools to improve development efficiency.
- Conduct code reviews, debugging, and defect management to maintain high-quality software.
- Participate in solution design, evaluating trade-offs and ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes.
- Monitor application performance and support continuous improvement through proactive testing and observability.
