Software Engineer – Secret Clearance
About The Position
Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Experimentation Lab (X-LAB) is a very fast paced and dynamic environment. It is engineering, developing and integrating new capability for the Missile Defense System that currently protects the United States and its allies. The team consists of many small agile teams that work together in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Our team is also, responsible for tasks such as Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security and enhancing other critical, leading-edge missile defense technologies. We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated mid-level software engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs to develop and test innovative solutions in support of X-Lab projects and experiments.
Requirements
- Active Final SECRET clearance required prior to starting
- Experience with Java and the spring framework
- Experience working in a Linux environment
- Experience in the use of software test and analysis tools
- Must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Python for scripting, automation, or tool development.
- Proficiency with Maven (or comparable build tools)
- Daily use of Git/GitLab for source‑code management, branching strategies, and code reviews
- Hands‑on experience with Ansible for deployment, configuration, or orchestration tasks
- Skills in packaging, installing, and diagnosing software in both development and operational settings
- Hands‑on experience with Agile development processes and the ability to convey requirements and progress to multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with missile‑defense or sensor/weapon integration concepts and related algorithms
- Prior experience designing and developing microservices and deploying with containers
- Understanding of system engineering, systems design and development
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
