About The Position

Responsible for designing, building, delivering and maintaining software applications & services. Working in the areas of machine, cloud, platform and/or application. Responsible for software lifecycle including activities such as requirement analysis, documentation/procedures and implementation. In this role, you will be responsible for defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure. You will work with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements & vision, translate these into prioritized user stories, and deliver to required timelines and quality standards. The role involves collaborating with product line leaders and architects to develop multi-generation software technology plans, driving increased efficiency, eliminating duplication, and leveraging product and technology reuse. You will support process improvements for development, sustaining, and support activities, and work cross-functionally with other business departments. A key aspect is driving world-class quality in product development and support, engaging subject matter experts for knowledge transfer, and applying principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques. You will write code that meets standards, understand performance parameters, assess application performance, and work on core data structures and algorithms. Proactive information sharing across the team is also expected.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
Experience with front-end technologies (JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, HTML5, CSS, JS frameworks, JS libraries) and user-interface design
Experience with server technologies, using Java and Node.js, microservices, building APIs, server-side frameworks, and relational databases
Experience in advanced web applications, using modern technologies such as Spring Boot, web services (RESTful, SOAP), WebSocket, Apache Camel
Experience in cloud application development, being comfortable with deploying software in cloud, troubleshooting, and working with cloud technologies
Experience or knowledge in cloud-native software platforms and containerization technologies using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Jenkins
Strong knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design, software design patterns, and enterprise coding principles
Experience with automated tests using automation frameworks (Playwright, Serenity/Cucumber, Jest, Karma, JUnit, Mockito)
Experience with Windows and Linux development (Ubuntu, Windows 10/11)
Experience with modern tooling for software development (Gitlab, Perforce, Sonar, Coverity), code development environments (IDEs), and automated test tools
Legal authorization to work in the United States is required
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Chicago, IL

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Computer Science or similar discipline
Advanced experience with AWS cloud
Prior work experience in building complex multi-tier cloud-based applications utilizing modern frontend and backend technologies
Prior work experience in an agile environment
Experience in healthcare standards and communication protocols such as HL7, DICOM/IHE profiles, FHIR
Ability to analyze impact of technology choices
Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements, and estimating efforts

Responsibilities

Be responsible for defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure
