About The Position

At Advanced Space, we're enabling humanity's return to the Moon and building the technologies that will take us to Mars and beyond. We're looking for a Software Engineer to develop ground and flight software for missions to the Moon and beyond. This is a hands-on software engineering role. You'll write and debug C++ and Python code, develop modular and testable software, run unit and regression tests, and contribute to software that supports real space missions. We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, takes ownership of their work, and is excited to build software in a technically demanding environment alongside a team that's delivering real missions, not just concepts. This position is open to U.S. Persons (U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents) only. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional work experience.
  • Experience with or an ability to write and debug C++ and Python code.
  • Basic software engineering concepts and eagerness to develop skills.
  • Familiarity with unit and regression testing and understanding the importance of writing reliable, testable code.
  • Analytical and enjoy breaking down moderately complex problems into manageable components.
  • Take ownership of work and follow assignments through to completion.
  • Seek feedback and use it to improve technical skills and deliverables.
  • Communicate clearly and developing the ability to tailor communication for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Reliable, productive, and committed to delivering quality work on time.
  • Build productive relationships with teammates and internal stakeholders.
  • Act with honesty and transparency in technical work, communication, and interactions.
  • Excited to learn industry-specific tools, libraries, operating systems, and software engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and debug software for space missions.
