Schedule and Work Details Location: NBP 410 Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (required); in-scope poly within the past 7 years may be required Schedule: Standard on-site mission schedule Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Might Look Like You’ll design and build software components that process large volumes of data across distributed environments. Your day may involve developing new Java services, optimizing MapReduce workflows, troubleshooting performance issues, or integrating cloud-based capabilities into existing platforms. You’ll collaborate with analysts, engineers, and mission stakeholders to translate operational needs into scalable technical solutions. Expect hands-on coding, debugging, system integration, and continuous improvement of mission systems running in production environments.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (required)
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline and at least seven (7) years of Software Engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity. Four (4) additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
- Demonstrated experience working with distributed data systems and cloud-enabled environments is required.
- Strong software development experience using Java
- Experience with the MapReduce programming model and associated technologies (Hadoop ecosystem, Hive, Pig, etc.)
- Experience working with distributed Big Data platforms
- Familiarity with NoSQL data stores such as HBase, Accumulo, or BigTable
- Experience with Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS)
- Cloud environment experience
- Ability to design, develop, debug, and integrate complex software systems
- Experience working with serialization formats such as JSON or BSON
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with GhostMachine or QTA environments
- Familiarity with large-scale analytics platforms
- Experience optimizing performance for high-volume data pipelines
- Ability to work independently in mission-driven environments
