About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer to design and develop custom ServiceNow applications using App Engine Studio and/or traditional scoped application development. The role involves building solutions beyond out-of-the-box functionality, including custom modules, data models, and platform extensions. Responsibilities include cloning, extending, and customizing existing ServiceNow modules, developing workflows, automation, and integrations with external systems (REST/SOAP APIs, third-party platforms). The engineer will write, test, and debug ServiceNow scripts (Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer), develop custom UI components (UI Pages, UI Actions, Service Portal elements), and ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with ServiceNow best practices. The position requires analyzing requirements and translating them into technical solutions, researching and adapting platform capabilities, and collaborating with developers and team members within an Agile/DevSecOps environment. The engineer will work independently on development tasks, maintain knowledge of ServiceNow data structures, configure and utilize MID Server for integrations, and implement role-based access controls and platform security configurations, adhering to security and compliance requirements (e.g., FedRAMP/DoD/STIG). This position operates with a high level of ownership and autonomy in a fully remote environment, proactively progressing work and seeking out additional tasks.
