About The Position

Transcend is seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Engineer on the Workflows Team to build software that helps companies tackle tough privacy challenges. This team’s mission is to build both the core execution engine and the web-based configuration & monitoring surface for our workflows processes. Our workflows engine enables our customers to service customer data requests (Delete My Data, Do not Sell, etc.), enforce data minimization/data retention policies, and propagate user preferences to downstream systems.
This is a remote, Exempt, Full Time position based in the United States. The successful candidate must have valid work authorization, as visa sponsorship is not available. This role reports directly to our Engineering Manager.

Requirements

• You have less than 2 years of experience in software engineering.
• You take charge of your own professional and technical learnings. You know when to ask for help, and when to try to solve a problem on your own. You strike a good balance between learning how something works deeply and getting a task done. You actively seek feedback from others to improve your own work.
• You’re able to identify trade-offs and take them into consideration when making decisions. You care about business impact and prioritize projects accordingly. You’re not just going after the latest cool tech – you understand the balance between craft, speed, and the bottom line.
• You enjoy & are effective at async and online methods of communication. Our team is remote, so the ability to clearly and thoughtfully communicate despite the space and time barriers is very important.
• You are excited to grow your engineering knowledge and abilities. Our team strongly values professional growth, and places a large emphasis on growing our engineers both technically and non-technically through mentorship, continuous feedback, and opportunities to demonstrate your growth.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers and designers to build business-critical features. You will think critically about the implications of what you’re building, and how it relates to the overarching privacy goals of our customers.
• Ship production-ready code. You will know what tests to write, what to log, what metrics to capture, what alerts to set up.
• Work across the stack to deliver features: Typescript, React, GraphQL, Node.js, PostgreSQL, AWS
• Proactively fix production and development issues. Use these experiences to accelerate your growth as an engineer.
