About The Position

Realtor.com® is seeking an innovative and consumer-obsessed Senior Software Engineer to join their RDC Next team. This team is responsible for building and delivering innovative solutions across the real-estate ecosystem to deepen relationships with industry players, consumers, and brokers/agents. The team is currently in the initial phase of developing a product aimed at transforming the agent and home buyer experience throughout the home buying journey. The role emphasizes the proficient use of AI coding assistants and LLMs to accelerate development, generate boilerplate code, and troubleshoot complex issues. Candidates must possess the critical judgment to verify AI-generated outputs for security, performance, and accuracy, and be comfortable integrating AI tooling into their daily workflow to focus on high-impact architectural and strategic engineering challenges.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in software architecture, design and development, with specialty in developing backend APIs or full stack applications
Experience with some modern distributed systems backend languages like Python or Typescript, or any other object oriented language (Go, Rust, Java, etc.)
Good knowledge of distributed systems architecture from one of more cloud providers, preferable AWS, utilizing infrastructure as code
Experience with both relational databases (Postgres, etc.) and document stores (DynamoDB, mongodb)
Experience with frontend web or app application development
Experience building maintainable and scalable systems
A data-driven approach with strong results and outcome-oriented focus, understanding the value derived from rapidly shipping code and learning/iterating on the results
Strong empathy for our consumers and agents, and a passion for exceeding their expectations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, connecting directly and effectively with cross-functional technical and non-technical stakeholders at various levels
Ability to decompose complex business problems and communicate solutions succinctly
A passion for learning, continuous improvement, sharing, and working in a team environment
Independent and can manage your own projects and time with ease, all the while setting and managing stakeholder expectations
Bachelor degree in Computer Science / Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience

Help improve code generation and quality by utilizing agentic AI and best practices
