About The Position

FIS Management Services, LLC seeks Software Engineer Specialists-Payments API Platform (Real Time & Event Driven) to design, develop, and govern a companywide API and event platform, defining canonical models, structured data contracts, and versioning to enable interoperable, audit ready integrations. This role involves evaluating system specifications for complex business requirements, preparing computer-based solutions, and analyzing problems in terms of detailed system and cloud resource capabilities to ensure scalability and resilience. The engineer will lead the architecture and operation of 24×7×365, low-latency services with documented availability objectives and continuous operations patterns including active-active, automated failover. They will establish and enforce security architecture for digital transactions using recognized frameworks, tokenization, and hardware-backed key management with validated cryptographic modules, implementing OAuth 2.0, JWT, TLS, RBAC, and secrets management. Integration of strong customer authentication where required, achieving zero high severity audit findings, SAST/DAST ≥90% coverage, and 100% on-schedule key rotations are key aspects. The role includes designing and developing RESTful and event driven APIs using modern technologies including Java/Spring Boot, NET Core, Node.js, and Python Flask, with automated CI/CD. Establishing the reliability engineering program for APIs and event pipelines by defining SLIs/SLOs, implementing error-budget governance, standardizing runbooks and chaos/resiliency tests, and improving health is crucial. Implementing end-to-end observability including traces, metrics, and logs with correlation and golden-signal dashboards, and engineering transaction integrity via idempotency, deduplication, replay/retry semantics, and safe-retry keys to deliver exactly-once–like outcomes are also core responsibilities. Owning API spec governance for synchronous HTTP and asynchronous events—compatibility rules, deprecation policy, and contract/conformance tests, and driving performance engineering for high throughput, low latency services through partitioning, indexing, memory/GC tuning, and hot path optimizations are expected. Leading structured data migration and interoperability with mapping guides, reconciliation controls, and cutover/rollback plans, and producing and maintaining technical documentation—API specs, integration guides, reference adapters/SDKs, and test harnesses are part of the role. Collaboration with product, engineering, compliance, and operations to translate requirements into measurable outcomes and chairing design/risk reviews for ADRs, threat models, data classification, segregation of duties to align with risk, audit, and compliance are also key. Verifying program logic by preparing representative test data and executing trial runs in lower/UAT environments, and planning and overseeing program level deliverables—dependencies, technical risks, cross-team cutovers are also required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation: evaluating systems specifications for complex business requirements and developing and preparing computer based solutions; analyzing problems in terms of detailed equipment requirements and capabilities, including those related to scalable applications and cloud based resources; troubleshooting complex technical issues; architecting, designing, and developing RESTful and/or event driven APIs using modern technologies including Java/Spring Boot; implementing industry standard security in API design including OAuth 2.0, JWT, TLS encryption, role based access controls, and secrets management.
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree in the above listed fields and eight (8) years of experience in the above listed skills.
