About The Position
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (“SEL”) seeks professional, innovative and detailed individuals for our Software Engineer – Software Products position located at our Spokane Valley, Washington field office. If you are looking for an opportunity to work with industry experts while participating in developing cutting edge products, then this may be the position for you! These positions will be based out of the company’s Spokane Valley field office. These positions require regular on-site work at the Spokane Valley office and do not permit remote work or work-from-home arrangements. SEL invents, designs, and builds digital products and systems that protect power grids around the world. This technology prevents blackouts and enables customers to improve power system reliability and safety at a reduced cost. Requirements
- Principles of software and computer engineering and computer science.
Responsibilities
- Perform systems analysis and design.
- Design, code, test, debug, document and maintain SEL’s Software Products.
- Make software recommendations to management.
- Devise and modify procedures to solve problems taking into consideration computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results.
- Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
- Provide project management, task leadership and training for project team members as may be needed.
- Stay abreast of industry developments relative to computer science.
- Follow and improve the company’s software development processes.
