About The Position

Workday is seeking a Software Engineer/Software Development Engineer (P3) to join a hardworking, multifaceted and passionate team delivering a new generation of on-demand enterprise solutions for the Payroll product. You will work closely with your product manager and team members on features, collaborating with your team following agile and test driven development practices. Workday builds enterprise software in the cloud through a continuous development model allowing for rapid delivery of our software. The successful candidate will be encouraged to balance multiple priorities with contending deadlines, be passionate about building high quality enterprise applications and be innovative in their ideas from a technical, process and relations point of view. This role plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new cloud-based products and internet related tools. You will code, test, debug, document and implement software applications. You will analyze requirements, test and integrate application components, and ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented. You will analyze, design, program, debug, and modify software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, or internet-related computer programs. Code may be used in commercial or end-user applications, such as materials management, financial management, HRIS, mobile apps or desktop applications products. Using current programming language and technologies, you will write code, complete programming, and perform testing and debugging of applications. You will complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. You may interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications. This position may allow for partial telecommuting.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field and two (2) years experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Two years (24 months) of experience in object-oriented design and development.
  • Two years (24 months) of experience in algorithms and data structures.
  • Two years (24 months) of experience in programming language such as Java, C# or C++.
  • Two years (24 months) of experience in database and querying languages such as SQL.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field and five (5) years experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Five years (60 months) of experience in object-oriented design and development.
  • Five years (60 months) of experience in algorithms and data structures.
  • Five years (60 months) of experience in programming language such as Java, C# or C++.
  • Five years (60 months) of experience in database and querying languages such as SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new cloud-based products and internet related tools.
  • Codes, tests, debugs, documents and implements software applications.
  • Analyzes requirements, tests and integrates application components.
  • Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented.
