Software Engineer (Senior) - Greenfield Project

This role is not about inheriting a bloated team or firefighting legacy problems. It’s about building something properly, with executive backing, technical freedom, and real influence. You’ll be the Senior Software Engineer for a fast-growing business with serious momentum: Greenfield engineering project, Real authority to set standards, culture, and direction, Direct access to leadership and decision-makers, A clear path to grow into a Engineering Management roles as the team scales. You’ll work closely with our Software Engineering Manager and the Director of IT - two accomplished leaders who have designed and led complex systems. Brent is deeply technical, highly collaborative, and known internally as an exceptional mentor who genuinely invests in the growth of his leaders. This is not a role where engineering is “handed down” - you’ll be trusted as a partner.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years building cloud-based software (or equivalent experience)
- Strong experience with AWS (or GCP, Azure) and modern backend systems
- A background in C#, Java, or similar languages
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and shaping technology
Responsibilities
- Involved in the end-to-end delivery of WinChoice’s software platform that can scale with the business.
- Hands on, implementing the latest and greatest software.
- Driving architecture decisions from design through deployment.
- Acting as a player-coach when needed, without being stuck in the weeds.
- Setting the bar for code reviews, testing strategy, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering discipline.
- Defining how AI is used responsibly and effectively across the team.
- Driving productivity without compromising quality.
