About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Software Engineer Senior to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC). This role involves designing, developing, troubleshooting, and analyzing software programs for new and existing systems. The engineer will also develop/modify documentation, conduct complex testing to qualify systems for Range operations, and provide feedback to management on project status. Additionally, the role includes leading technical proposals and software maintenance release efforts, estimating, planning, and scheduling, and supporting technical personnel for assigned projects. Additional duties may be assigned.

Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science or related science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) field or equivalent to of education and related experience.
Minimum of 8+ years of experience in software engineering
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
Current DOD 8140 Certification (Security+) or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of start date
Experience working with Windows and Linux (RedHat and GNU) based computer systems and components
Experience working with scripting languages (Python, JavaScript)
Experience working with design and coding languages
Experience working with virtualized systems (VMware)
The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
Some travel may be required (less than 10%)
The ability to lift 30 lbs
Valid U.S. Driver’s License required

Responsibilities

Participates in designing, developing, troubleshooting and analyzing software programs for new and existing systems
Develops/modifies documentation of new or existing program, as required
Conduct/support complex Level 1, 2, and 3 testing to qualify systems for Range operations
Provides feedback and reports to management on the status of each project supporting
Leads technical proposals as well as software maintenance release efforts including estimating, planning, and scheduling
Supports the efforts of all technical support personnel for assigned projects
Additional duties as assigned
