About The Position

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer Sr. to join their team. As part of one of the largest networks of software professionals, you will implement cutting-edge technologies on existing and new development platforms, helping to solve complex challenges in diverse domains such as aircraft flight command and control, air traffic control, healthcare, and homeland defense. This is a matrix engineering and technology role, offering exposure to multiple programs throughout your career.

Requirements

Must have an active DOD secret security clearance
The candidate must have a growth mindset with a strong ability to learn quickly
Strong experience with modern C++ 11
Embedded OS experience: Yocto, Petalinux, VxWorks, or similar OS
Experience with Embedded Protocols: RS-232, I2C, Canbus, RS-485, CanOpen, or similar protocols
Experience working with Linux distributions (preferably RHEL 8 or higher)
Can support routine domestic travel for government exercises
Must be a US Citizen

Nice To Haves

Experience working with pub/sub protocols (RTI DDS, gRPC)
Experience leading a software development team through different phases of the software development life cycle
Experience with Python programming and bash scripting
Experience working with Agile methodologies, JIRA, Git, and automated testing

Responsibilities

Develop Embedded Software
Integrate features/algorithms into C/C++ applications
Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities
Design, develop, document, test, and debug software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment.
Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
Correct program errors, prepares operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
