About The Position

Persona builds identity verification infrastructure where security is core to everything shipped. Unlike most companies where security failures lead to system downtime, at an identity verification company like Persona, real people's identities are compromised, making the stakes significantly higher. With AI tools accelerating development and breaches frequently making headlines, the gap between what is built and what is built securely is widening. Engineers focused on closing this gap are more critical than ever. This role is primarily a software engineering position, where curiosity about security is important, but a dedicated security background is not a prerequisite.

Requirements

3+ years of software engineering experience
You've built and shipped systems at scale, not just advised on them
You own implementation end-to-end, from design to delivery
Clear communicator who can work across teams without losing technical depth

Nice To Haves

Proficient in Ruby on Rails
Experience with IAM, authn/authz frameworks, or identity protocols (OAuth, SAML, OIDC)
Familiarity with software supply chain security, secure SDLC, or AI/ML security risks
You've worked somewhere where PII or sensitive data was the core product

Responsibilities

Designing and building IAM systems that enterprise customers use to manage PII across global teams
Supply chain security as Persona's AI tooling and integrations expand
Building secure, convenient internal tooling for engineers as we scale AI usage
