About The Position

Parsons is seeking a Software Engineer / Research Scientist to join their team. In this role, the individual will design and implement Python-based applications, develop and maintain machine learning pipelines, and collaborate with a cross-functional team in a Linux development environment. Responsibilities include managing codebases through version control, building CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring software quality through integration and testing practices. This position offers the opportunity to work with modern ML frameworks and contribute to innovative, real-world technology deployments within the Federal Solutions team, which delivers resources to US government customers for missions around the globe in defense, security, intelligence, infrastructure, and environmental sectors.

Requirements

  • Python development experience with focus on object-oriented programming practices
  • Extensive experience with scripting and programming, such as bash and python web frameworks, and developmental environment libraries, such as pip or anaconda
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning architectures (Pytorch, ONNX, Tensorflow)
  • Experience with Linux development environments
  • Experience maintaining code base documentation and git repositories
  • Experience with version/source control software (git/github/bitbucket)
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, integration testing, and quality testing
  • An active Secret security clearance is required

Nice To Haves

  • Team development experience
  • Experience with React full stack development
  • Experience with C++ development
  • Familiarity with machine learning model deployment on edge devices (Jetson Nano/Orin, Raspberry Pi, etc.)
  • Familiarity working with Docker and containerized environments
