Allocore building something big with a major federal client and are looking for engineers who want to do more than just ship code—you’ll help shape the platform, the architecture, and how we scale. We're looking for a Software Engineer with strong Python and Django experience to help design and build scalable, high-performance applications.You’ll work across the full development lifecycle—from architecture to implementation to optimization—while collaborating closely with product and engineering teams. This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to the DC area for key team and client engagements.

Requirements

  • Occasional travel to the DC area for key team and client engagements.
  • 3+ years of experience in software development, with strong Python and Django expertise
  • Experience building scalable, high-performance web applications
  • Strong understanding of APIs, web technologies, and backend architecture
  • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Experience with modern development tools (Git, CI/CD, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain government clearance (U.S. citizenship required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fintech or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with React, Angular, or other front-end frameworks
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or DevOps practices
  • Contributions to open-source or active participation in engineering communities

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable web applications using Python and Django
  • Develop robust APIs using Django REST Framework (DRF)
  • Implement asynchronous processing (e.g., Celery) for high-performance workloads
  • Optimize data handling and performance with PostgreSQL and caching strategies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers
  • Participate in and lead code reviews, ensuring high-quality, maintainable code
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and performance issues
  • Contribute to system architecture and technical direction, including microservices design
  • Mentor junior engineers and support a culture of continuous improvement
