About The Position

Pramaana Labs is seeking a full-stack Product Engineer to transform their AI research into user-friendly and trustworthy products. This role involves creating intuitive interfaces and developer experiences that make complex reasoning accessible, allowing users to understand, inspect, and verify AI outputs. It's a hands-on, early-stage position with broad responsibilities across customer-facing applications, developer APIs, and new product experiments. The engineer will be involved in discovering user needs, building the full stack of experiences, and iterating based on real-world usage. Collaboration with product, design, engineering, and research teams is key, with ownership of projects from MVP to production. The ideal candidate is passionate about both AI functionality and user experience, aiming to simplify complex technology.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of software engineering experience, with examples of shipped and improved products or features.
• Strong full-stack fundamentals, comfortable with TypeScript and React for interfaces, Python or Node.js for backend services, and working with APIs and relational databases.
• Product judgment and attention to detail, focusing on user goals and the understandability of the final experience.
• Practical experience delivering production software, including testing, version control, code review, deployment, and debugging.
• Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and responsible handling of user data.
• Comfort working through ambiguity, breaking down loosely defined problems, testing approaches, and adjusting based on learning.
• Ownership, curiosity, and clear communication skills, with the ability to surface problems early and collaborate effectively across teams.

Nice To Haves

• Experience building applications with LLM APIs, retrieval, agent workflows, or evaluation systems.
• Experience with enterprise software, developer tools, or workflows involving complex documents, structured knowledge, or auditable decisions.
• Strong frontend craft, including experience building editors, data visualizations, or other information-rich interfaces.
• Experience taking a startup product, substantial side project, or open-source tool from an idea to active users.
• Prior experience in formal verification (not required, but curiosity is valued).

Responsibilities

• Build complete product experiences, taking problems from initial exploration to working software, owning the frontend, backend, data models, integrations, and testing.
• Create thoughtful, responsive interfaces for workflows related to knowledge import, rule review, question asking, and result inspection, with attention to interaction details, accessibility, loading states, and errors.
• Develop reliable APIs and services for document processing, asynchronous jobs, verification workflows, and customer integrations, ensuring progress, failures, and recovery are understandable.
• Partner with researchers to integrate models, agents, and verification services, bridging the gap between technical demonstrations and dependable customer experiences.
• Work with customers and internal stakeholders to understand workflows, test assumptions, identify improvements, and use feedback and usage data for iteration.
• Own quality beyond launch by writing tests, reviewing code, monitoring shipped features, investigating production issues, and improving performance, security, and reliability.
• Build foundations for multiple products by creating reusable components, services, and integration patterns, making practical decisions about sharing and implementation durability.
