About The Position

Assembled is the only unified platform that orchestrates both human agents and AI at scale for customer support. Assembled aims to help teams deliver faster, better service while making smarter staffing and automation decisions. The company has received $71M in funding from NEA, Emergence Capital, and Stripe, and is focused on building a platform for effective AI and human collaboration. This role is for a full-stack product engineer with deep frontend expertise. The engineer will work across the entire technology stack to deliver customer-facing product experiences, encompassing polished interfaces, backend systems, APIs, and AI-powered workflows. Collaboration with product and design teams is key, with an emphasis on moving quickly from idea to production and influencing both the product and the development process. The ideal candidate is product-minded, capable of owning outcomes end-to-end, and possesses strong frontend engineering fundamentals, exceptional product instincts, and a high standard for user experience.

  • Strong full-stack engineering skills, with the ability to comfortably move between frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
  • Exceptional frontend engineering fundamentals, including experience building large React applications and making sound decisions around architecture, performance, maintainability, and developer experience.
  • A strong product mindset and track record of owning customer-facing features from idea through launch.
  • Experience partnering closely with product managers and designers to turn ambiguous problems into polished user experiences.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Bias toward ownership and shipping, especially in fast-moving environments where priorities evolve quickly.

  • Experience improving frontend performance, application architecture, build systems, or developer experience at scale.
  • Experience working on B2B SaaS, operational software, support tooling, or workflow-heavy products.

Responsibilities

  • Build product experiences end to end — Own customer-facing features from concept through production across frontend, backend, APIs, data models, and AI-powered workflows.
  • Lead frontend implementation for complex products — Build intuitive, performant user experiences while bringing strong judgment around frontend architecture, state management, and application design.
  • Strengthen our frontend foundations — Improve performance, maintainability, developer experience, and technical quality across our React application. Drive major upgrades and architectural improvements when needed.
  • Create reusable systems and patterns — Build thoughtful abstractions, components, and frameworks that help the team move faster without sacrificing product quality.
  • Partner deeply with product and design — Turn ambiguous customer problems into elegant product experiences and iterate quickly based on customer feedback.
