About The Position

MSA Safety is seeking passionate, motivated, and driven individuals for a Co-op position in Software Engineering, Product Development for Spring 2027. MSA is a purpose-driven company focused on safety, deploying innovation and technology to protect people and assets globally. This role offers the opportunity to work on products that protect firefighters, workers in dangerous industrial settings, and the environment. The co-op will be immersed in embedded systems and hardware/software problem-solving within a stable, mid-size corporate culture. They will engage with sophisticated technology stacks and software tools, receiving technical coaching and mentoring from a skilled, diverse, and global team. The position is located in Pittsburgh, PA, with a housing stipend for eligible candidates. The co-op will learn software engineering through various applications, including feature development, automated testing, user experience, and internal development platforms and tools.

Requirements

Possess a proactive and inquisitive approach to problem-solving.
Awareness of the software lifecycle and the challenges and complexities that can arise during a typical hardware/software development.
Strong technical skills in designing and implementing software that fits the need (C/C++/Python).
Ability to work well independently and within a team context.
Enrolled in ABET-accredited program with major in Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science or related.
