About The Position

At PNC, the Software Engineer Principal works within the Data and Automation organization and is based in Dallas, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Strongsville, Ohio, or Birmingham. The role builds containerized applications and automated delivery pipelines for environments running Red Hat OpenShift. Its focus is deploying applications to and using OpenShift—not administering or supporting the OpenShift platform. The engineer works with platform teams on application containerization, image creation, and reliable CI/CD pipelines for enterprise OpenShift environments, packaging applications appropriately and integrating them into secure, automated delivery pipelines. The position aligns business strategy with software solutions; proposes, designs, and codes solutions for complex business needs; oversees technical and procedural documentation; leads complex problem solving; and provides technical guidance and support to colleagues and solution development. It applies modern principles, methodologies, and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities. Employees are expected to prioritize customer needs and satisfaction and to assess and manage risks in support of PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework. PNC describes itself as an in-office company. Employment visa sponsorship and STEM OPT participation are not available for this position. The role is incentive eligible, with payment based on company, business, and/or individual performance.
