As a Software Engineer Principal within PNC's Capital Markets Derivatives organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Dallas, TX. Creates and leads the technical design and development of software solutions. Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs. Prepares technical and procedural documentation required. Facilitates complex problem resolution. Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues. Reviews coding, testing, and documentation of software. Applies modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities. Ability/Desire to gain knowledge of Capital Markets and Derivatives products. Ability to effectively communicate with the Business on issues and improvements. Ability / Desire to find innovative technology solutions to solve business problems. Aligns business strategy with software solutions. Proposes, designs & codes software solutions to address complex business needs. Oversees technical and procedural documentation required. Leads complex problem solving. Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues and solution development. Requirements

  • Java (web and core)
  • SQL (Oracle)
  • Linux (core and scripting)
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience.
  • Specific certifications are often required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
