As a(n) Software Engineer Principal within PNC's Data and Automation organization, you will be based in Dallas, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Strongsville-OH or Birmingham. We are seeking a Software / DevOps Engineer with strong experience building containerized applications and automated delivery pipelines in environments that run on Red Hat OpenShift. This role focuses on using and deploying to OpenShift, not administering or supporting the OpenShift platform itself. You will work closely with platform teams while concentrating on application containerization, image creation, and CI/CD pipelines that deploy reliably into enterprise OpenShift environments. The ideal candidate understands how applications run on OpenShift, how to package them correctly, and how to integrate them into secure, automated delivery pipelines.

Requirements

  • Experience deploying or running applications on Red Hat OpenShift
  • Strong experience with container image creation
  • Strong experience with Spark, Trino, Airflow, and Iceberg
  • Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid understanding of Kubernetes concepts from an application perspective
  • Experience with Git and modern development workflows
  • Experience with Helm or templated Kubernetes/OpenShift deployments
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • University / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
