Sprinter Health•San Francisco, CA
•$175,000 - $225,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Sprinter Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build foundational platform systems that help its engineering organization scale. The role involves developing infrastructure, internal tooling, shared services, and automation that enable engineers to develop, deploy, and operate software more efficiently. Work spans application code, cloud infrastructure, and operational systems, with a focus on improving developer productivity, reliability, and engineering effectiveness. The position is hybrid: employees work in the office Monday through Thursday and may work from anywhere on Fridays. The company provides flexibility when needed and offers lunch in the office each day, with the team taking an hour to eat together. Sprinter Health is an equal opportunity employer. Its technology stack includes serverless AWS services (AppSync, DynamoDB, Lambda, Amplify, CloudFormation, and Node), React Native, React Native for Web, GraphQL, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience building and scaling backend software, infrastructure, or platform systems in production.
  • Experience building internal developer tools, automation, shared services, or infrastructure supporting multiple engineering teams.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, deployment systems, and production environments.
  • Experience designing and implementing reliable, maintainable software that improves how engineers build, test, deploy, or operate applications.
  • Ability to lead technical projects end to end, from architecture and implementation through rollout, adoption, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Experience collaborating across engineering teams to understand developer pain points and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Ability to make technical decisions that balance developer productivity, operational reliability, and long-term maintainability.

Nice To Haves

  • A career focused on platform engineering, developer experience, infrastructure, or developer productivity.
  • Experience building internal platforms, CLIs, frameworks, or self-service tooling adopted by multiple engineering teams.
  • Experience improving engineering velocity through faster deployments, more reliable CI/CD pipelines, or reduced operational overhead.
  • Extensive experience with AWS, serverless architectures, infrastructure as code, or cloud-native systems.
  • Experience implementing observability, monitoring, or incident management tooling that improved production reliability.
  • Experience at mid- or growth-stage startups (Series A–C) where infrastructure and developer tooling evolved alongside rapid product development.
  • Experience measuring work through developer adoption, deployment frequency, system reliability, or engineering efficiency improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build internal tools, shared services, and automation that improve developer productivity across engineering teams.
  • Own and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and infrastructure that enable engineers to ship software quickly and reliably.
  • Build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure, developer environments, and foundational services that support the platform.
  • Improve observability, monitoring, and operational tooling to make systems easier to debug, maintain, and operate.
  • Develop reusable frameworks, infrastructure components, and self-service tooling that reduce manual work and accelerate development.
  • Partner with engineering teams to identify bottlenecks, improve development workflows, and drive adoption of platform capabilities.
  • Own foundational engineering projects end to end, making pragmatic architectural decisions that balance reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
