Software Engineer, Physical AI
About The Position
Encord is building tools for the full Physical AI data stack, encompassing data acquisition, ingestion, curation at scale, 3D rendering, annotation, and verification. The role involves solving problems related to large-scale efficient data transfer and storage, complex domain modeling, applying the latest machine learning models, and optimizing web browser performance. The engineer will work with leading companies in robotics and autonomous vehicles, joining a collaborative team at a critical growth phase. This position offers a high degree of autonomy, focusing on crafting performant, reliable, and maintainable solutions.
Requirements
- Strong full-stack engineering experience, with a particular strength in complex, high-performance frontend work.
- Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred) and containerized deployment (Kubernetes).
Nice To Haves
- Experience with 3D rendering, WebGL, or similar technologies for visualizing spatial/sensor data.
- Experience with React.
- Experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or Physical AI.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain high-performance frontend experiences, including rendering complex 3D scenes with thousands of objects at smooth frame rates.
- Work across the full stack, from backend data pipelines and storage systems to frontend visualization and interaction.
- Take end-to-end ownership of projects, including product and architectural decisions, deployment, monitoring, and measuring user impact.
- Work with visual, spatial, and sensor data to interpret the physical world.
- Tackle complex domains at massive scale using simple, well-crafted solutions.
- Take initiative, be proactive in problem-solving, and continuously seek improvements.
