Software Engineer, Marketing & Web

Arena Intelligence, Inc.Bay Area, CA

About The Position

Arena is looking for a frontend-specialized Software Engineer to take ownership of Arena's public web surfaces, including the blog, marketing pages, and the leaderboard UI. This role involves end-to-end management of the Arena blog (Next.js, Sanity CMS, content models, publishing workflows), building and maintaining marketing pages that align with the product's design system, and enhancing the public leaderboard frontend for better readability of evaluation data. The engineer will also focus on optimizing these surfaces for speed, accessibility, and indexability (Core Web Vitals, SEO, structured data, i18n) and developing CMS models and internal tools to empower marketing and content teams to publish independently.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software engineering, with most of that time on production frontend
  • A portfolio or shipped work that shows high-craft public pages: marketing sites, content sites, or data-dense product UI
  • Deep skill in React, TypeScript, Next.js, and CSS — you can implement complex layouts, motion, and responsive design with precision
  • Enough full-stack skill to work in a product codebase. You can read an API, extend a route, and follow the request lifecycle. You are not a backend specialist, and you do not need to be
  • Clear communication with designers, marketers, and engineers — you can defend a tradeoff and explain it to a non-engineer
  • Evidence of shipping and iterating. You can describe a page or surface you owned, what happened after launch, and what you changed
  • Genuine curiosity about AI evaluation and Arena's mission. You have looked at arena.ai and can say why this public surface matters

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with a headless CMS (Sanity, Contentful, or similar): content modeling, structured data, and the operational side of a live site
  • Leaderboards, data tables, or visualization work (charts, ranking UIs, dense filterable tables)
  • SEO, Core Web Vitals, structured data / JSON-LD
  • Animation (Motion, GSAP, or CSS) used with restraint
  • You've shipped without a dedicated PM — took a brief from marketing or design and drove it to production

Responsibilities

  • Own the Arena blog end-to-end — Next.js, Sanity CMS, content models, publishing workflows, and the templates authors use every week
  • Build and maintain marketing pages (product, features, resources, careers, campaign pages) in the same design system as the product
  • Improve the public leaderboard frontend: tables, charts, filters, and the UX that makes evaluation data readable at a glance
  • Keep these surfaces fast, accessible, and indexable — Core Web Vitals, SEO, structured data, and the i18n we already run
  • Build CMS models and internal publishing tools so marketing and content can ship without waiting on engineering for every copy change

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and equity aligned to the markets where our team members are based.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and additional support programs.
  • The opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI with a small, mission-driven team
  • A culture that values transparency, trust, and community impact
