About The Position

At Regions, the Software Engineer Manager oversees application development for a department or group within the company. This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. This position is incentive eligible. The Software Engineer Manager position will be responsible for managing at least 2 Fraud AD Agile teams, and also be able to provide technical guidance to the teams regarding design, technology standards and guidelines. Previous experience managing teams is strongly preferred. Ability to work closely with Business Stakeholders, Scrum Master, POs, and Architects to fully understand the business requirements and help the Dev teams to transform requests into technical requirements needed to deliver features/work. Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and strong organization and communication skills. Lead intake and prioritization of development work aligned to business/technology goals. Own product lifecycle and delivery for enterprise software platforms. Provide status reporting on key initiatives, timelines, and team productivity. Ability to work in an environment with aggressive timelines. Ability to coach, teach, and mentor teams. Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving and time management skills. Regions will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position. Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to Birmingham, AL, Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Six (6) years of relevant experience
  • Experience as a team leader
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Understanding of and ability to interpret applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a Technology role in banking or a financial services industry
  • Previous experience managing teams is strongly preferred
  • Preferred knowledge of Financial Crime Unit (FCU) processes such as fraud detection, AML, KYC,and transaction monitoring
  • .NET Full Stack (MVC, ASP.NET, .NET Core, .NET Framework)
  • Understanding of WCF and SOAP-based communication

Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of system design, development, deployment, acquisition, and ongoing maintenance for all application systems within areas of responsibility
  • Develops technology solutions that increase the efficiency of internal business functions, resolves business problems, and supports the pursuit of business opportunities for areas of responsibility
  • Creates and refines operational processes and systems to ensure effective regulatory and audit compliance
  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
  • Evaluates customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrates technical parameters, and assures compatibility of all interfaces
  • Supports the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements through management processes
  • Partners across Technology, Operations, Digital, and Data (TODD) to ensure controls are designed, implemented, and monitored to strengthen risk management, compliance, and cyber security, effectively mitigating risk to levels within the company’s risk appetite
  • Ensures disciplined change management by evaluating risk and control impacts when designing or implementing changes to processes, systems, products, and/or services
  • Managing at least 2 Fraud AD Agile teams
  • Provide technical guidance to the teams regarding design, technology standards and guidelines
  • Lead intake and prioritization of development work aligned to business/technology goals
  • Own product lifecycle and delivery for enterprise software platforms
