About The Position

At Regions, the Software Engineer Manager oversees application development for a department or group within the company. Primary Responsibilities Manages all aspects of system design, development, deployment, acquisition, and ongoing maintenance for all application systems within areas of responsibility Develops technology solutions that increase the efficiency of internal business functions, resolves business problems, and supports the pursuit of business opportunities for areas of responsibility Creates and refines operational processes and systems to ensure effective regulatory and audit compliance Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions Evaluates customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrates technical parameters, and assures compatibility of all interfaces Supports the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements through management processes Partners across Technology, Operations, Digital, and Data (TODD) to ensure controls are designed, implemented, and monitored to strengthen risk management, compliance, and cyber security, effectively mitigating risk to levels within the company’s risk appetite Ensures disciplined change management by evaluating risk and control impacts when designing or implementing changes to processes, systems, products, and/or services This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. This position is incentive eligible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Six (6) years of relevant experience
  • Experience as a team leader

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a Technology role in banking or a financial services industry
  • 7+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing engineering, observability, platform, SRE, or IT operations teams within a large enterprise environment.
  • Design and implement enterprise observability solutions across applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, APIs, and business-critical services.
  • Establish end-to-end visibility into customer journeys and business processes, aligning technology performance with customer experience and business outcomes.
  • Define and manage service health frameworks, including SLIs, SLOs, reliability metrics, and service dependency mapping.
  • Lead AIOps and operational intelligence initiatives, including predictive monitoring, anomaly detection, event correlation, and automated remediation capabilities.
  • Develop executive dashboards and analytics that provide insights into service health, availability, customer impact, operational risk, and business performance.
  • Partner with Engineering, SRE, Infrastructure, Security, Product, and Business teams to improve reliability, resiliency, and operational excellence.
  • Support major incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts through observability and operational analytics.
  • Experience with enterprise observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Elastic, OpenTelemetry, and cloud technologies including Azure, AWS, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience building enterprise observability programs, business service monitoring capabilities, and AIOps-driven operational intelligence solutions.
