Software Engineer, Ledger & Payments

Level is seeking a Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join their team. The role involves building and managing the transaction processing systems that are at the core of Level's business. The engineer will work on developing scalable and reliable platforms and services, collaborating with banking and FinTech partners, and leading large technical projects. The ideal candidate is someone who prefers simple and lasting solutions, enjoys learning about global money movement and finance, and can make hard decisions and tradeoffs. • Build and manage the mission critical engine that handles all transactions within Level
• Develop latency sensitive transaction processing systems and manage latency requirements across multiple real-time systems
• Ensure high reliability, availability, and accuracy in managing funds and transactions
• Collaborate with banking and FinTech partners to enable the Level product for employers and members
• Contribute to and define core interface code between financial systems and the core product
• Set the standard for software design and scalable systems architecture within Level
• Develop configurable and scalable platforms and services
• Scope and lead large technical projects with significant impact across multiple teams
• Have at least 5 years of Software Engineering experience
• Prefer simple and lasting solutions over complex ones
• Bias towards action and bring clarity to complexity
• Have experience working with teams that operate important infrastructure
• Enjoy learning and understanding the intricacies of global money movement, finance, and accounting
• Work well with teams and make rigorous decisions and tradeoffs

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience
