About The Position

The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer Lead in Glen Allen, VA, to participate in all aspects of PNC's Corporate and Institutional Banking’s Systems Engineering Group activities. This role involves leading the technical design and development of software solutions, analyzing business processes to create technical requirements, developing solutions with manual and automated unit testing, collaborating with on and offshore teams, mentoring junior developers, and supporting all phases of the development lifecycle including off-hour production deployments and the creation of deployment artifacts for audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Applications, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • 3 years of software development experience with the Empower Loan Origination System (LOS) in or for the financial services industry
  • Coding in both C# and JavaScript
  • Managing code in Team Foundation Server including resolving merge conflicts
  • Writing complex queries in SQL to troubleshoot issues
  • Supporting a SQL relational database
  • Creating custom Empower screens and plugins
  • Building out Orchestration Engine tasks
  • Interfacing with third parties services to streamline business processes
  • Designing and updating Empower workflow models across multiple lending channels
  • Configuring control and user security
  • Developing and troubleshooting RESTful APIs
  • Working in AGILE scrum methodologies
  • Building software solutions in compliance with regulatory requirements including TRID, RESPA, and HMDA

Responsibilities

  • Leading the technical design and development of software solutions
  • Analyzing current business processes to create technical requirements for assigned processes, tasks, and workflows
  • Developing solutions from technical specifications including both manual and automated unit testing where needed
  • Independently collaborating across multiple teams, both on and offshore, to develop financial banking solutions
  • Assisting in mentoring junior developers
  • Supporting all phases of the development lifecycle including off-hour production deployments and the creation of deployment artifacts for audits
