About The Position

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer (Java) to join our growing global team at Sectigo. The Software Engineer (Java) will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of Sectigo Certificate Manager (SCM), a large-scale platform for certificate lifecycle management and automation. This role involves building and enhancing backend services, APIs, integrations, and user-facing functionality while maintaining high standards of quality, security, scalability, and reliability. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving complex technical problems, learning new technologies, and working collaboratively to deliver secure and scalable enterprise software solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is strongly recommended.
Minimum of 3+ years of professional software development experience is required.
Strong experience with Java and Spring-based application development.
Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
Experience with ORM technologies such as Hibernate/JPA.
Experience working with Linux-based environments.
Experience using source control systems, issue tracking tools, and automated testing practices.
Experience working with AI coding assistants and agentic development tools.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
Experience with containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ.
Experience troubleshooting production environments.
Understanding of authentication, authorization, and modern application security principles.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and platform functionality within the SCM ecosystem.
Build and enhance RESTful APIs and distributed services using Java and Spring technologies.
Participate in the design and implementation of integrations with enterprise systems, certificate authorities, cloud services, and network infrastructure.
Collaborate closely with Product Management, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve functional, performance, reliability, and scalability issues in development and production environments.
Contribute to technical design discussions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
Write maintainable, testable, and well-documented code.
Assist with technical documentation, testing activities, and product support.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to architecture, performance, security, and operational excellence.
Additional tasks associated with this position may be assigned in response to company initiatives and business needs.
