About The Position

Under the supervision of the Software Development Supervisor, the Software Engineer is responsible for developing custom web applications for our client and key stakeholders, assuring software quality, providing technical assistance, troubleshooting software issues, and providing technical expertise to the development team. The Software Engineer will work under the general direction of a Software Development Supervisor. The position works on a collaborative basis with other Software Engineers, Project Managers, Database Administrators, and Business Process Analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant programming experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing complex web applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Training or experience in functional languages such as Scala, Haskell, PureScript, F#, Erlang, Self, Scheme, OCaml, or Clojure.
  • Experience using Linux as a development platform.
  • Experience developing web applications using PureScript, Scala, and PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboratively develop software applications for the Wisconsin Court System
  • Member of a Scrum development team.
  • Writes functional software for web applications.
  • Refine requirements.
  • Perform application tests.
  • Write unit tests.
  • Provide technical assistance to customer support staff
  • Assist with software troubleshooting.
  • Perform programming fixes and rewrites.
  • Perform software maintenance tasks
  • Deliver software to users.
  • Create software release artifacts.
  • Manage software revisions.
  • Manage automated deployments.
