About The Position

As a Software Engineer within the IT Early Career Development Program, you'll be part of a twelve-month rotational program which introduces recent college graduates to different groups within the IT organization, such as cybersecurity, asset management, enterprise architecture, desktop support, network/application engineering, and more. As a participant, you'll gain hands-on experience working on IT deliverables that drive business outcomes, mentoring with experienced professionals, and job shadowing. This is a development opportunity where you'll grow your career in IT by leveraging technical skills, adaptability, analytic thinking, and ability to deliver results. Most importantly, you'll will gain real-life experience and explore what it’s like to work as part of a fast-growing financial institution with a focus on emerging technologies. Upon program completion, you 'll be placed within IT teams according to compatibility, performance, and interest.

Requirements

  • Recent college graduate (December of prior year or May of current year).
  • Entry level experience from the classroom working with code repositories and automated code build solutions for CI/CD Pipelines.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft products, such as Office 365 and SharePoint.
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Entry level organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Leadership experience from a professional association, social organization, or volunteer group.
  • History of self-starting, capable of working both independently and on cross-functional teams.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with an attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) or engineering workflows.
  • Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.
  • Entry level knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Entry level knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with IT teams on development, analytics, and automation projects.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint deliverables.
  • Support testing, documentation, and deployment of software solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and team meetings.
  • Present project updates and rotation learnings to peers and leadership.
  • Review existing IT systems and internal processes; collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement within IT infrastructures.
  • Participate in design discussions, learn and implement solutions such as custom applications, SaaS or Commercial platforms, and middleware integrations.
  • Assist in building internal tools or prototypes using technologies such as .NET, Python, SQL, and Azure.
  • Participate in multiple engineering rotations to gain exposure to different teams, technologies, and business functions.
  • Support day-to-day engineering tasks such as analysis, development, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.
