About The Position

We are looking for a software engineering intern focused on rapid prototyping to help accelerate product development. Your mission is to turn ideas into working demos quickly, enabling Product Line Managers (PLMs) to test, validate, and iterate on new features before committing to full development.
This is not a traditional software development role. Your goal is to rapidly test ideas, validate assumptions, and generate insights that influence product strategy and engineering investment decisions. Leverage AI development tools to accelerate prototype development and experimentation.
This role enables fast validation of ideas, reduces unnecessary development effort, and shifts decisions from discussion-driven to prototype-driven.
You will directly influence what gets built and what doesn’t.

Requirements

• Strong programming skills
• Comfortable navigating and modifying existing codebases
• Ability to quickly understand and extend unfamiliar systems
• Experience building small applications end-to-end
• Familiarity with APIs, data handling, and basic UI tools
• Bias for execution over perfection
• Enjoys building pragmatic solutions
• Comfortable switching between new builds and existing systems
• Handles ambiguity well
• Focus on solving real problems
• English is required for this position, as the role involves frequent verbal and written communication with customers, partners, suppliers, and colleagues located outside of Quebec.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with prototyping tools (Cursor, Streamlit, etc.)
• Exposure to data processing
• Familiarity with Git

Responsibilities

• Develop quick, functional prototypes to validate new product features
• Translate product ideas into working software (scripts, tools, mini-apps)
• Work in two modes depending on the need: Greenfield prototyping (building from scratch) or Extending existing codebases by adding or modifying features for validation
• Collaborate with PLMs, researchers, and developers to refine concepts
• Build lightweight solutions using Cursor, simple web apps, and data tools
• Iterate rapidly based on stakeholder feedback
• Help answer key questions: Does it work? Does it bring value? Should we invest further?
