Software Engineer Intern - Neurodiversity Hiring Initiative
About The Position
Specialisterne’s Neurodiversity Hiring Initiative with Goldman Sachs is available to applicants who: 1. Self-identify with the following neurodivergent labels or identities: Autism (including Asperger’s and PDD-NOS) Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) Learning Disability (dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia) Intellectual Disability Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Tourette Syndrome 2. Have experienced barriers to finding and/or maintaining employment related to their neurodivergence 3. Are open to receiving workplace support from Specialisterne. Candidates must be willing to submit to and successfully pass a comprehensive pre-employment background check, including but not limited to: Employment Verification, Education Verification, Criminal History & Fingerprinting, and Credit & Financial Checks. This role is a 9-week internship with the opportunity to transition to full-time. Both internship and full-time employment are fully in-office. The internship is located at 2001 Ross Ave, Dallas, TX 75201, and candidates should be currently located within commutable distance to the role location.

- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Intermediate programming skills using Java, Python, React, or SQL
- Basic data modeling skills using Excel or similar tools
- Basic version control skills in Git
- Ability and willingness to learn new technical skills
- Ability to be an independent thinker and a desire to take on challenges
- Ability to stay business focused and push for quantifiable commercial impact
- Ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and communicate complex ideas in a simple manner

Responsibilities
- Solve complex problems at scale and develop high-performance quality applications with a global user base
- Build and deploy modern data management tools to curate key client reference data sets, models and workflows
- Evaluate, select and acquire new internal or external data sets that contribute to business decision making
- Engineer data processing pipelines while identifying areas for process automation and improving efficiency
- Partner with data platform teams to adopt cloud-based processing pipelines and data distribution
- Drive strategic initiatives and delivery of key programs of work across the Client Data or Vendor Data department and the broader division
