About The Position
Snowflake is seeking AI-native thinkers for its Software Engineer Intern position, focusing on Core, Infrastructure & Security for Spring 2027. Requirements
- Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college/university program during the time of the internship.
- Desired class level: 3rd/4th year Undergraduates, Masters, or PhD.
- Desired majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related field.
- Required coursework: algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, operating systems.
- Excellent programming skills in Java, C++, Go, and/or Python.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Systems programming skills including multi-threading, concurrency, etc.
- Strong problem solving and ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
- Experience working as part of a team.
- Dedication and passion for technology.
Nice To Haves
- Recommended coursework: cloud computing, database systems, distributed systems, cryptography & authentication, networking.
- Bonus experience: research or publications in security, distributed systems, or systems programming; contributions to open source.
- Preferred knowledge of C++20/C++17 or Java 20/Java 17.
- Experience with DevOps tooling (Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform) and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker) a plus.
Responsibilities
- Build enterprise-grade, reliable, and trustworthy software/services.
- Gain exposure to SQL or other database technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Gain exposure to security, cryptography, access control, and identity and access management technologies.
- Understand database internals, large-scale data processing, distributed systems, and data warehouse design.
- Experience building automation frameworks and infrastructure to improve engineering workflow efficiency.
- Deliver quality software in large distributed systems with emphasis on functional and performance automation.
- Work with cloud infrastructure — AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.
- Learn about cutting-edge database technology and research.
- Follow company's confidentiality and security standards for handling sensitive data.
- Abide by the company's data security plan as an essential part of duties.
- Keep customer information secure and confidential.
