About The Position

CGI is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET) who is passionate about automation, modern engineering practices, and delivering high-quality software. The successful candidate will develop automated testing solutions across API, application, and database technology stacks while contributing throughout the software development lifecycle. This is a Full-Time, on-site employment opportunity based in the Cary, NC, area.

Requirements

At least 10+ years of experience in software development and testing
Strong experience testing RESTful web services/APIs.
Hands on experience with REST Assured, Bruno, or similar API testing tools/frameworks.
Strong SQL skills for database testing and validation.
Object oriented programming proficiency in Java, Python, or similar languages.
Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, including tools such as Jenkins.
Strong automation, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working within Agile engineering teams.

Nice To Haves

AWS or other cloud platform certifications.
Experience developing RESTful web services using Java.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
Develop automated tests for RESTful APIs and web services.
Perform database validation and testing using SQL.
Build reusable automation solutions using object-oriented programming languages such as Java or Python.
Participate throughout the SDLC, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD and DevOps pipelines.
Collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and other engineering team members.
Identify quality risks and drive improvements in test automation and engineering practices.
Evaluate and recommend new testing technologies, frameworks, and design patterns.
Contribute to Agile team ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.
