About The Position

The System Experience Test Engineering team is looking for a driven and dedicated software engineer. As a member of our dynamic group, you will have the unique and phenomenal opportunity to be part of testing the most iconic operating systems. From Lock Screen and Notifications to Spotlight and Settings, the System Experience team is responsible for ensuring the quality of Apple’s ecosystems, as well as the apps and frameworks that drive Apple’s leading platforms on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS. As a Software Engineer in Test, you will work on a multi-functional team which is responsible for projects such as SpringBoard and Spotlight. You will work closely with software engineers, project managers and other Apple quality teams. You will ensure that Apple delivers the next generation of its operating systems with the highest quality by providing continuous integration testing. A mix of manual testing supplemented by automated suites help ensure scale, but need to be able to focus on the larger projects while sweating the small UI details.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Two years of directly related work experience can substitute for the education requirement.
  • Three years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Experience writing code in Swift or Objective C to test an API, SDK, or Frameworks.
  • Experience writing and triaging automated software tests (e.g., unit-tests, regression tests, functional tests, stress tests).
  • Experience with XCTest and Xcode.
  • Detail oriented, analytical, and creative problem solver with passion for quality processes.
  • Ability to work independently, raise issues and take corrective action.

Responsibilities

  • Providing continuous integration testing to ensure the highest quality of Apple's next generation operating systems.
  • Focusing on larger projects while paying attention to small UI details.

  • Filing appropriate bugs.
  • Consolidating bug reports.
  • Driving development and deployment of relevant testing tools and infrastructure.
