About The Position

As Software Engineer III, you are responsible for writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code. Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and deployment, Supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs. About Team: Sam's Club is our membership warehouse club, a business model that provides our members with high-quality products at prices that are unrivaled by traditional retail. Sam's Club provides a carefully curated assortment of items, as well as developing and leading technologies and services such as Scan & Go, Club Pickup, and home delivery service in select markets. Sam's Club also provides travel, auto purchasing, pharmacy, optical, hearing aid centers, tire and battery centers, and a portfolio of business operations support services.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of development experience of building micro services using Java, Spring, Spring Boot technologies
  • experience working with distributed systems, message brokers such as Kafka or EventHub or ServiceBus or PubSub
  • NoSQL such as Cassandra or Cosmos
  • SQL resources such as Oracle or PostgresSQL or MSSQLServer
  • Ability to build products with focus on testability, someone who loves test coverage (well versed with Mockito and JUnit)
  • Solid knowledge of OOPs concepts, design patterns.
  • A disciplined approach to development, exception handling, testing, documentation, and code structure in a team environment
  • Knowledge of building scalable and distributed containerized applications in Azure or GCP cloud environments.
  • Working knowledge of CICD and agile methodologies.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and deployment, Supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs.
  • Involved in the entire software development lifecycle.
  • Analyzes project requirements and creating individual tasks and development to meet requirements.
  • Responsible for writing automated tests to ensure that the software functions as expected and also debug / fix any issues or bugs that arise during the testing phase.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance engineers to ensure the software meets quality standards and have ability to handle smooth production deployments.
