We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer III to join our Data Foundation team. The ideal candidate is proficient in Java and demonstrates a strong willingness to learn new technologies and tools as our platform evolves. You will play a key role in building scalable, reliable, and high-performance data solutions that power Walmart’s data-driven initiatives. Requirements

Strong programming skills in Java, with proven experience in backend or data engineering roles.
Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm to learn new tools, frameworks, and platforms.
Experience using AI-powered tools for development and testing (e.g., code generation, automated testing, static analysis).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment.
Familiarity with ArgoCD for continuous delivery and GitOps workflows.
Experience with Postgres including schema design and query optimization.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area.
Knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
Knowledge of accessibility best practices.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and data pipelines using Java.
Actively leverage AI tools and frameworks to accelerate software development, automate testing, and improve code quality.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and contribute to best practices.
Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies as required by project needs.
