About The Position

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and Community Banking/Acquisitions & Offer team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You carry out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas and business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. The role involves software design, development, troubleshooting, production code quality, architecture and design artifacts, and ongoing improvement of applications and systems. You will use enterprise-authorized AI coding and automation tools responsibly, validating their output through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding practices.

Requirements

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
Practical, hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine generated output for correctness, performance, and security.
Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage.
Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
Solid understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.

Responsibilities

Execute software design, development, and technical troubleshooting, using non-routine approaches to build solutions and break down technical problems.
Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
Use enterprise-authorized AI coding-assistance tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity; validate outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards, and share reusable patterns and learnings.
Use Software Development Life Cycle tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized from automation.
Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure software development meets design constraints.
Gather, analyze, synthesize, and visualize large, diverse data sets to support continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
Identify hidden problems and patterns in data and use those insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
