Position Summary: This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns. Successful candidate will be an experienced software engineer with both Business knowledge of the brokerage industry, with experience in working across multiple teams in technology projects. Distributed and Mainframe experience would be a preferred set of skillsets.

Requirements

  • Experienced in Analysis/Design of complex systems
  • Experience in modernization of legacy mainframe technologies into Java / Spring Boot, and other modern technologies including Rues Engine software IBM ODM and/or InRule, MULE.
  • Restful API
  • Experience in Performance optimization
  • Test Driven Development
  • CI/CD Pipeline with GitHub/Jenkins
  • Agile Collaboration experience
  • Development experience in Java/Spring boot, with ETL/DataStage and/or Mainframe
  • Ability to communicate clearly with other technology teams and/or Business partners on project meetings.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in programming language(s) required for the role
  • Hands on proactive technologist who is capable of taking on multiple tasks/projects.
  • Distributed and Mainframe experience
  • Business knowledge of the brokerage industry

Responsibilities

  • Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
  • Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
  • Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack
  • Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
  • Automates manual release activities
  • Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
