About The Position

The Software Engineer designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for enhancements and new products. They will also develop software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms. This role resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways and is for a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of their specialty. They work on problems of a diverse scope and receive little instruction on day-to-day work, with general instruction on new assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 5 to 8 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Expert-level experience supporting and troubleshooting Java applications.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux server administration.
  • Experience supporting production environments with high availability requirements.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Terraform, or similar.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting.
  • Working knowledge of Go (Golang).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working with various development programs
  • Ability to quickly learn customer support processes, tools and techniques
  • Understanding of how to configure third-party software components and technologies
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis of network, operating system, and other issues
  • Ability to collaborate and work remotely including use of communication tools
  • Ability to multi-task and self-organize including prioritization of activities
  • Experience using monitoring systems
  • Attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Kubernetes and Docker experience.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or New Relic.
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with REST APIs and microservices.
  • Experience with Git and version control.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support for Java-based applications and services running in production.
  • Troubleshoot application, server, and infrastructure issues to quickly restore service.
  • Analyze logs, performance metrics, and system behavior to identify root causes.
  • Support Linux-based server environments and application infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, DevOps, SRE, and infrastructure teams.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and production support activities.
  • Monitor application health, system performance, and availability.
  • Document operational procedures and troubleshooting guides.
  • Recommend improvements to system reliability, scalability, and automation.
