About The Position

The position involves delivering highly complex solutions with significant system linkages, dependencies, and associated risk. The role includes leading and performing development efforts such as analysis, design, coding/creating, and testing. Responsibilities also encompass overseeing and participating in testing, implementation, maintenance, and escalated support of Truist's most complex solutions. Development activities include customized coding, software integration, analysis, configuring solutions, or using pertinent tools to configure or generate a solution. The engineer will ensure adherence to company and industry standards, provide technical consultation on extremely challenging or unusual situations, write and run unit tests, and devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired results. The role requires interpreting internal/external business challenges and recommending best practices, using sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions, and mentoring less experienced teammates to build technical expertise. The engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality working software, automating manual/reusable tasks, and working directly with and consulting the business from the beginning of design work. Leveraging continuous engineering practices to deliver business value regarding design effectiveness and actively participating in refining user stories are key. The role includes development, unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing, as well as providing warranty support and knowledge transfer to production support. Code must be developed in accordance with acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 6 years of progressive experience in software engineering or IT consulting positions performing the following:
  • Applying in-depth knowledge in information systems and understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function to identify, apply, and implement IT best practices.
  • Applying broad functional knowledge in requirement gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and deployment of applications.
  • Planning and managing projects and solving complex problems by applying best practice
  • Providing direction and mentoring less experienced teammates.
  • Utilizing experience with: AWS; Java 21; JavaScript, TypeScript, Shell Script; Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Batch, Spring Integration; Spring Web (Servlet Stack and Reactive Stack); ReactJS, AngularJS, NodeJS; HTML, CSS, Bootstrap CSS, Tailwind CSS; Apache Kafka, JMS, AMQP, WebSocket; Ant, Maven, Gradle; RESTful and SOAP Webservices, gRPC; Git; Oracle Database, MySQL Database; Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, OpenShift; Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD; Terraform; SAST, DAST, SCA and DevSecOps; Apache Tomcat, Netty, JBoss; STS (Spring Tool Suite) and IntelliJ Idea; and Windows and RHEL.
