About The Position

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you will design and deliver full-stack solutions that power critical financial workflows and client-facing platforms. You will work across the entire software development lifecycle — from architecture and development to testing and deployment — contributing to systems that operate at enterprise scale. Your work will directly support the reliability, performance, and evolution of platforms that serve clients and business partners across global markets.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages — including Java — and database querying languages across relational (Oracle, SQL) and non-relational (MongoDB, CockroachDB) platforms
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment — such as for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation — with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies such as React or Angular
  • Experience with data pipeline design or event-driven architecture patterns
  • Familiarity with distributed database concepts and multi-region data consistency strategies
  • Experience contributing to technical design discussions and architecture reviews
  • Knowledge of security best practices in application development, including authentication, authorization, and data protection patterns

Responsibilities

  • Execute software solutions across design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond conventional approaches to break down complex problems and deliver scalable outcomes
  • Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems across full-stack Java and front-end environments
  • Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables — including code generation, refactoring, unit test creation, and documentation — while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contribute learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation
  • Build and optimize relational and non-relational database solutions across Oracle, SQL, MongoDB, and CockroachDB to support high-availability, high-throughput workloads
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met throughout software code development
  • Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data, using insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions
  • Participate in code reviews, providing and incorporating constructive feedback to continuously raise the bar on engineering quality
