About The Position
As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Global Banking, Commercial & Industrial Lending division, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team designing and delivering trusted technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You carry out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas and business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. The role involves developing and maintaining production software, contributing to system design and architecture, analyzing data to improve applications and systems, and applying enterprise-authorized AI-assisted tools across engineering workflows. AI-generated work must be critically reviewed and validated for quality, correctness, performance, and security. The position also promotes responsible AI practices and contributes reusable learnings and patterns to improve team effectiveness.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using Java, Python, and database querying languages.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective practices.
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies and concepts such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.

Responsibilities
- Execute software solution design, development, and technical troubleshooting, using approaches beyond routine methods to solve technical problems.
- Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI coding assistance to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity; validate outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards, and share reusable patterns and learnings.
- Apply knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value of automation.
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure software development meets design constraints.
- Gather, analyze, synthesize, and visualize information from large, diverse data sets to support continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
- Identify hidden problems and patterns in data and use insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
