About The Position

The Contingent is seeking a Software Engineer III (Contractor) to join their engineering team. This role will contribute to the design of new innovative products. The successful candidate will be a curious problem solver with experience in JavaScript, React, Tailwind, and familiarity with Node.js. The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing new and existing products, as well as participating in their maintenance, testing, and evaluation. Proactive communication regarding product progress and blockers is essential. A key goal will be to participate in team sprint ceremonies to prioritize, review, and discuss backlog items, ensuring the workload for upcoming sprints is correctly prioritized. Recommendations should follow reliable, efficient, and high-quality procedures. The role also involves performing feasibility, functionality, and quality testing of designs and collaborating with other engineering team members to ensure project milestones are met and projects are completed according to established timelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience (or equivalent work experience) in relevant fields of software engineering, computer science, etc.
  • Expertise in relevant technical fields, such as software development and quality assurance.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in successfully working with a diverse group of constituents utilizing multi-cultural intelligence, intentional listening, appreciation, and respect.
  • Excellent external and internal written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Teams, Azure DevOps, etc.
  • A willingness to be “hands-on” and work in a lean, fast-paced organization with limited administrative support.
  • The capability of handling ambiguity and driving the work autonomously.
  • The ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse, changing environment, while maintaining a calm and positive spirit.
  • Experience in successfully working with a diverse group of constituents utilizing multi-cultural intelligence, intentional listening, and appreciation and respect.
  • JavaScript, React, Tailwind experience.
  • Familiarity with Node.js.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities
