About The Position

As a Software Engineer III, you will lead the design and development of scalable software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and user experience. You will troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes to enhance system performance. This role involves managing projects from requirements gathering through coding, testing, and deployment while ensuring adherence to quality and security standards. You will also provide technical guidance to small engineering teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that drive innovation and operational excellence. The Finance Data Foundations team delivers scalable, reliable solutions to manage Finance Plan and Forecast data, supporting key business operations. The team excels in analyzing requirements, designing robust components, and ensuring high-quality code through continuous development and testing. With a strong focus on technical expertise and iterative improvement, members contribute to platform design and product strategy. Collaboration and commitment to secure, efficient delivery enable the team to address evolving financial data needs effectively, supporting critical business functions with precision and agility.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in software design, development, and delivery within Agile environments.
  • Strong technical acumen in object-oriented programming, API design, and platform development.
  • Expertise in debugging, testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
  • Ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable solutions.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product, project management, and user experience teams.
  • Proficiency in developing automation scripts and implementing telemetry for performance monitoring.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills through root cause analysis and defect management.
  • Capability to mentor and guide small engineering teams effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • OR 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and joining in creating accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product, project, business, and user experience teams to define high-level design and technical solutions for projects.
  • Develop, write, and test code ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements, quality, security, and scalability standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production and business issues through root cause analysis and coordinated action plans.
  • Manage complex projects by translating requirements into sustainable technical solutions and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Support users by providing technical guidance and identifying effective implementation strategies.
  • Mentor and guide small engineering teams, including offshore associates, to meet project goals.
  • Implement automation scripts and telemetry features to enhance continuous integration and delivery processes.
